by Paul Kesselring
Fascination with local cemeteries — from large, well-organized municipal operations to isolated and almost-forgotten plots in hidden corners of family farms — prompted amateur historian Paul Kesselring to research the whereabouts and history of all known burial sites in Wapello County, Iowa. For the first time his findings have been combined with photographs — vintage as well as new views — of many of Wapello County’s cemeteries to produce a full-color survey.
